PaddyMack
Traditional Celtic Band
“Music is
enough for a lifetime, but a lifetime is not enough for music”
- Sergei Rachmaninov
PaddyMack was formed in 1996 by four musical friends who lamented
the lack of bands playing Celtic music in the traditional style.
Two of the founder members are still in the current line-up.
All members are widely experienced, having played individually and
collectively in several bands over the years, performing at folk
clubs, folk festivals, weddings, birthday parties, ceilidh dances,
pubs and clubs, RSA's, shopping mall promos, market days - you name
it, we've played for it.
These musicians have been responsible for the two longest-running
pub sessions in Auckland, including our present weekly Sunday evening
session at McCarthy's Irish Bar (formerly The Bog) in Parnell, which
has been going successfully since 2005.
